The Colorado Restorative Justice Coordinating Council (RJ Council) was formed via HB07-1129 by the Colorado state legislature. Our mandate is to provide training, technical assistance and education related to restorative justice in the state of Colorado, support the development of restorative justice programs, serve as a repository of information for those programs.
Since then the RJ Council has grown to 19 appointed representatives from many interest areas in the field. In 2015, these members created the most recent vision for their work together: The Colorado Restorative Justice Council engages communities to create lifelong cultures of respect and responsibility.
Similarly, they refined the RJ Council mission statement: The State Restorative Justice Council advances restorative justice principles and practices throughout Colorado by providing gateways to information, networking and support.
With those things in mind, the RJ Council and staff work diligently to meet the growing needs of the restorative justice community in Colorado. If you do not find the information you need on our website please contact us so we can support you!
