The annual statewide listening circle, co-hosted by the CO Restorative Justice Council & Colorado Coalition for Restorative Justice Practices (CCRJP), was held virtually on September 29, 2022.
The listening circle included a core group of Colorado policy leaders and featured Restorative Justice(RJ) thought leaders, program leaders, and practitioners around the state.
The focus of the circle was on key intersections between Restorative Justice practices and the arenas of public health, behavioral health, and community well-being and safety. Featured RJ leaders shared stories and perspectives about what is working well, current challenges, and policy changes needed to advance RJ in CO.
The Listening Circle of policymakers added their reflections on key opportunities and barriers to using restorative processes to address community safety, harm, and healing.
